With debuts to 2 new Bladerunners (Ivan and Ben), there were plenty of positives, with experienced Martin Hingley leading the way, with 3 runs from his 3 plate appearances. Pitcher Jack Hukin, stayed the distance to shut down the II's in the final inning to take the W. |

Coming off the back of their first win, confidence was high. However, team I jumped out to an early lead that would be tough to overcome, but that didn't stop the III's from giving it a good shot. in total, 9 different players crossed the plate, showing a great team effort. The late rally wasn't quite enough but the consistency across the team looks good, moving forward and with nearly 10 more squad players to debut for 2020, things look good for this team. |

Coming off a loss, the III's powered into a lead and despite the conditions leading to errors, walks and plenty of runs. Wills was on the mound and despite good hitting from the in form I's, the win was on the cards and the III's controlled the lead, until the last inning, when nerves got the better and the I's pushed round a series of runners to steal the win, for a heartbreaking loss. |

A first inning to forget, was to haunt the III's and prove to be the difference in an otherwise equal game. With a line up including yet another debut to Jonny White, they went blow for blow to the end, but the early lead was enough to see the I's through to take a win in game one of week 3. Solid hitting by the top of the team I order was enough to match the efforts by Gutierrez and Hingley for the III's. |

On most days when the starting pitcher puts up 11 strikeouts, it comes with a win. This Sunday wasn't one of those days and a very frustrating loss went on the board, despite a late comeback with the bats, fell just short. Sean Harrison was on fire on the mound and the hits he gave up found the gaps and cruelly punished a great performance, On the other side, special mention to J. Allison, who equally pitched great and was also deserving of the win. |

Despite needing the win to finish the day, team III invested in development, by trusting 2 unproven pitchers, to give them the reps to continue their development. After the early nerves settled, the game levelled out to a quality baseball game, with both sides trading blows. While the II's took the loss, the squad is quickly strengthening in all areas and have many positives to build from. Add to that 10 players we missing this week and the next could look very different. |

'Belief' was the word of the day - the coaches belief in their young players, belief in the players in each other, belief in the fact experience breeds success. Despite badly wanting the wins, the III's gave a pitching debut to Ben Matthews and a line up sporting 7/8 rookies across the squad. They all did themselves proud! The scoreline didn't reflect the effort and once Matthews settled down a pretty even match up took place. Plenty to be positive about and spirits were high, onwards and upwards. |

So with the league win out of reach, up steps AK Kelly to take the mound to see what he can do. What he can do is stun team I and put up a great pitching performance, which lifted the team to battle very hard with Rob Snell leading the way with his bat and the game went down to the wire, only for the I's to steal victory and leave the III's thinking what could have been. Regardless of results, the day was a huge success for the team III squad, with many, many positives. |

Team 1 chipped away at the lead in the 2nd, but Team III extended lead against relief pitcher Scott Lingrell (also making his pitching debut) thanks to 2RBI Single from Rob Barnes just to make sure of the win. Team III pitched a scoreless final inning to end any potential chance at a comeback for Team I.⠀ |

The final game of the day was a slightly experimental affair with nothing on the line for either team. Team II gave rookie pitcher Zak Berisford his first start on the mound. A series of errors and walks helped Team III take a big lead in the first innings. Zak led Team II’s recovery with a nice RBI double with the bat to help Team II get some runs on the board however it was never enough. Jack Hukin’s pitching for Team III was all but shut out standard for the rest of the game and Team II never managed to close that early lead. ⠀ ⠀ |
