Regular Trainings, Competitive Games, and Friendly Atmosphere for ages 14 and older
We actively encourage new and experienced players to join us and learn at a level that suits you. The Bladerunners is a club for anyone with a love of the game.
Engaging Trainings
We offer the perfect platform to get started in playing the sport with training sessions led by experienced coaches with decades of experience.
Trainings are held weekly from January through September. During the Spring and Summer we train every Thursday evening at Forge Valley Community School in Sheffield. During the Winter we train on Sundays indoors.
Training is optional and should you need to skip a week or two, it's not a problem, you just pick up where you left off and learn at your own pace.
Competitive Games
Our team games are played on Sundays typically from late April through September and rosters for teams are set prior to the season, while new additions are added to the squads throughout the year.
We currently offer three teams of increasing skill levels:
- Development Team
- This team is setup for brand new players with no to very little experience. Games are low stakes with minor rule changes to accommodate a faster pace of play and players new to the game.
- Mid-Level Team
- This team is for players with a few seasons of experience who want to be challenged a bit more and deepen their knowledge of baseball.
- Experienced Team
- This team is for our most experienced players or for moderately experienced players who want to push themselves to a higher level.
If you're unsure of which team you'd be a good fit for, don't worry! Our experienced coaches will assess your ability and work with you to sort out which team is appropriate for your skill level and where you will be happiest.
Lasting Friendships
While many members came to the Bladerunners because of an interest in the sport of baseball, they have since seen it go much further than just baseball. Many members have formed lasting friendships and expanded their social circles.
The club hosts numerous optional social events throughout the year making the Bladerunners more than just a baseball club.
So, if you are looking for just baseball, we've got that. If you are looking for fun, friendship, and a great social side, we've got that too!
